Interpretation: This piece explores how meaning is shaped by perception what one person says and how it’s received can be very different. At its heart, the work is about generational burdens and past echoes.
The figure above represents the generation before us, taking in these burdens as they are deep blue, heavy and unfiltered. The figure below represents our generation, more self-aware and in touch with our mental and emotional selves. The way we absorb these experiences is different: the incoming colour shifts to lighter green and yellow, symbolising reflection, questioning, and choosing not to follow blindly. Some of the green escapes from the back these are the parts we consciously release from our system.
As we pass experiences onto the next generation, they are softened, visually represented by gentler colours, in the hope of breaking the cycle one day.
There is nothing wrong with where you come from, what matters is awareness and what you choose to do with it.
